Joan Jonas: Moving Off the Land II
Ocean Space, Venice, 2019
Moving Off the Land II by Joan Jonas is the inaugural project at TBA21–Academy’s new permanent exhibition space in Venice: Ocean Space. Following over three years of research, Jonas presents drawings, sculpture, video, and sound installations which explore and pay tribute to the ecology of the world’s oceans.
D.H.office coordinated all aspects of the exhibition design and production in close cooperation with Jonas and her studio, including the fabrication of new works in mirrored glass and a series of “aquariums”. We also oversaw the construction of all display elements, logistics and installation, operations and day-to-day visitor services, and documentation of the exhibition.
Having already worked closely with TBA21–Academy on the initial renovation phases of the Chiesa di San Lorenzo, D.H office's exhibition production marked a new phase of collaboration with Ocean Space, deepening and broadening the relationship in a way representative of our commitment to develop projects in a comprehensive manner.
