Sigur Rós & Carl Michael von Hausswolff: Dark Morph Concert + Album Launch
Ocean Space, Venice, 2019
Dark Morph is a project created by the musician Jónsi, well known as the lead singer and bow/guitarist for the Icelandic group Sigur Rós, and Carl Michael von Hausswolff, a visual artist, composer, and curator. Spending time aboard a research vessel travelling in the South Pacific, the two made a series of hydrophone recordings of the sea life around Fiji and Tonga. Extrapolating and manipulating these sounds, they created a series of compositions based on, and devoted to, ocean life. Initially synthesised onboard the Dardanella research boat, and later mastered in Jamaica at Gee Jam Studios while in residence at TBA21’s Alligator Head Foundation, the album is presented publicly with a live concert at Ocean Space in Venice. The LP is produced by Krunk in collaboration with The Vinyl Factory.
D.H.office served as project manager for the concert and album launch party. Coordinating suppliers of all audio-visual elements for the concert as well as the bar, our team also managed ticketing and operations for the evening.
