Wu Tsang: Of Whales

Wu Tsang's large-scale film and sound installation Of Whales, 2022 is a continuation of the artist’s multi-year project investigating and meditating on Herman Melville’s epic, Moby Dick. Expanding beyond her feature-length adaptation of the novel, the work is a “dynamic oceanscape-cosmos,” a series of environments produced using VR tools. The film and sound installation was presented in the Gaggiandre of the Arsenale as part of The Milk of Dreams, the 59th Venice Art Biennale curated by Cecilia Alemani.

Having collaborated with Tsang on the presentation of MOBY DICK; or The Whale at the Teatro Goldoni in Venice, D.H.office supervised the installation of the film and sound piece, troubleshooting and mediating between the artist and the technical team and coordination of project documentation.
